Soul Of A Nation - Tate Modern

Thoroughly enjoying Late Night Tate and the perfect opportunity for a second viewing of Soul Of A Nation - Art In The Age Of Black Power. So much to see, and a third visit is definitely necessary. I was especially drawn to the work of Betye Saar "I'm intrigued with combining the remnant of memories, fragments of relics and ordinary ...

That is what makes me work, compelled to understand the core of life." Giacometti A beautifully curated exhibition of Giacometti's work at Tate Modern. John Metcalfe Band

John Metcalfe Band
What an absolute privilege to be at this very special and intimate gig; John Metcalfe and his fabulous band Rosie Doonan, Daisy Palmer and Ali Friend. Incredible musicians! John's music has resonated deeply in me since I first heard him play in 2008 at the opening series of 100 concerts at Kings Place. He is an extraordinary musician...

Glass entrance at Tottenham Court Road underground station

My first experience coming up into the new glass entrance at Tottenham Court Road underground station. Pretty spectacular, especially on a day like today with blue skies and sunshine. Apparently the structures are illuminated at night. Well worth a visit. The architects were Stanton Williams.

Ha Chong-Hyun at Almine Rech Gallery, London

Work 72-007, barbed wire shadow and cloth on panel, 122 x 244cm, 1972
Powerful and beautiful work by Ha Chong-Hyun at Almine Rech Gallery, London. A leading member of the movement known as Dansaekhwa (monochrome painting), Ha Chong-Hyun first came to prominence with his Conjunction series in the early 1970's. From this he developed his signature style; pushing the paint from the back of the hemp cloth throu...

Borough Market re-opening for business today.

My journey with, and love of, Borough Market began back in 1988 when, as a student, I fell in love with the cavernous space, and began to make very large scale drawings, always working on site. At this time it was solely a wholesale fruit and vegetable market. I would arrive ready to start in the morning, as the market, whi...

Ongoing journey.....10th June 2017

The ongoing journey of the new canvases.....the time spent simply being with them is, I believe, far more important than the time spent physically "doing".

A BRILLIANT time spent visiting galleries in central London. In fact I really cannot remember a day when I have seen so many pieces that I have loved.  The absolute highlight was Oliver Beer's "Resonance Project" at Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac. The sound/resonance/vibration of the voices just cut right through everyth...
